HomeAbout the Author

Born in India, educated at the universities of London, Sussex and Oxford, Edi presents an unusual blend of experience in the fields of both science and theosophy.

In science and engineering, Edi has worked as a Consultant to the petrochemical, oil and gas, aerospace, transport, and construction industries. He has been Project Manager and Head of Design for major innovative projects such as the Channel Tunnel, London Underground systems and offshore installations. He was awarded a national prize for his published work in aerodynamics. Currently he is Health, Safety and Environmental Manager for two major petrochemical plants in Saudi Arabia.

Edi’s work in practical fields has equipped him with extensive teambuilding and interpersonal experience in line with his belief that the principles of theosophy must be actuated in the conduct and ethic of daily life.

An ardent student of the perennial philosophy and ancient wisdom (theosophy) for over thirty years, his overall approach is that of a renaissance polymath: the integration, dissemination and practical application of spiritual wisdom from all sources both East and West, from sciences as well as the arts and religion. As an active member and national speaker for the English Section of The Theosophical Society, Edi has served on the governing body of the Society. Internationally, Edi has also given courses and lectured at the Krotona School of Theosophy in California, the International Theosophical Centre in The Netherlands, in Australia, and in India, including the international headquarters of The Theosophical Society at Adyar. He has organized and chaired conferences, such as the annual Theosophy-Science conference in England.

Edi also lectures extensively for The Scientific and Medical Network at their Mystics and Scientists conference at Winchester and for their several specialist interest groups. Chief topics are the nature of consciousness, the philosophy and science of Newton and Leibnitz, and the complementary approaches and methodologies of Western science and mystic philosophy in their respective investigations into Nature.

Edi has had his written work published extensively in the fields of science and theosophy. He is the author of Mirages in Western Science Resolved by Occult Science and The Snake and the Rope showing how current problems in Western science in the broad fields of cosmology, life sciences, consciousness and the theory of matter can be resolved through an understanding of the esoteric sciences. Currently he is completing a book on Newton’s esoteric philosophy and researches in alchemy.

Currently, Edi is Director of the Theoversity Project. It comprises a structured series of in-depth courses over a seven year period covering the Perennial Wisdom from the broadest perspective and naturally, fully embracing science.

Summary
The benefit of Edi's work in science and engineering is that it has enabled him to see the reality of things and approach interdisciplinary problems in an innovative, lateral-thinking manner under time and budgetary constraints. It has also provided the necessary team working, supervision and management skills with the opportunity to actuate theosophical principles on a practical organizational level, in line with his belief that spirituality is reserved not only for quiet retreats, but also applies to daily life.

The outcome of Edi's lifelong involvement in theosophy is a discernment of the higher laws governing all life and existence, at any level, and the necessity of living according to this realization.
